The Staff Advisory Council Distinguished Service Award (DSA) recognizes outstanding staff members at Oklahoma State University who exemplify excellence and service. This award allows university employees to nominate colleagues who go above and beyond in their roles and represent OSU in a positive and meaningful way.

 

Each fall, staff and faculty are invited to nominate colleagues whose contributions rise above expectations. Recipients of the Distinguished Service Award are honored during the annual ceremony held in December. This event serves as a meaningful opportunity to honor outstanding staff members and highlight their lasting impact on the OSU community. All staff and faculty are encouraged to attend this event to celebrate and recognize the contributions of colleagues across campus.

 

Nominations for the 2025 Distinguished Service Award are now open through October 10, 2025!

Nominate a staff member


Nomination Procedures

Distinguished Service Award nomination period will be announced by the Staff Advisory Council newsletter, website, and social media in early fall.

 

To nominate a staff member you must be an OSU-Stillwater staff or faculty member (including supervisors & emeritus faculty) to complete the DSA Nomination Form

 

Each nomination requires three recommendations. The committee will consider letters of recommendations from OSU staff & faculty, a family member, and community members. Only one recommendation may be from a family member.  When a candidate is nominated, our system will ask for three email addresses.  The system will send a DSA Recommendation Form link to the email addresses provided for the recommendations.

 

While Staff Advisory Council members are not eligible for nomination, they may nominate other staff members. SAC Awards and Recognition Committee members are not eligible to submit nominations.


Eligibility

The nominee must be:

    • OSU-Stillwater staff (0.75 FTE or greater, benefits-eligible)
    • Employed by OSU-Stillwater for a least one year
    • Not a top three DSA recipient in the past three years

Current Staff Advisory Council members are not eligible for nomination.

 

Distinguished Service Awards Ceremony

The Distinguished Service Award Ceremony is held annually in December to recognize and honor outstanding staff members and highlight their lasting impact on the OSU community.

 

All staff, faculty, nominators, recommenders and guests are encouraged to attend this event to celebrate and recognize the contributions of these outstanding staff members!
